Awesome fusion. Yes, that's just appropriate caption for presentation of "Para-Dise" duo's debut album "Now, Here". "Para-Dise" is a relatively newly created duo of two Kharkiv (Ukraine) musicians - Alexander Zhikharev (aka Parallax Breakz) and Dmitriy Samoylenko. Parallax Breakz is the well known name among the fans of broken rhythms; Alexander is an electronic musician, a DJ and a percussionist. In his turn Dmitriy Samoylenko is a saxophonist, known to the lovers of modern chill-out and jazz music. Both the names of the duo and of their album have their semantic meaning, which is natural because philosophy takes important place in the lives of both musicians. But we will speak about it later, first of all let us discuss the album itself. So, "Now, Here" was created just the same as it was thought to be by its makers, it is variegated by its style and its mood, but it has uniform energy or atmosphere. Puzzles from chillout, lounge, nu jazz, breaks, deep house, soulful d'n'b, chill-step and even new age ethnic music had ideally interlaced each other to make the integral picture of the album. And this is not due to the fact that Dmitriy's saxophone was perfectly fit for all the tracks, actually it was not fit for every one of them, only for some! For example in a marvelous duo's mutual composition with Lesya Kofanova - Call of the Universe - one cam hear Slavic-Celtic tunes of flute, but the moment does not prevent this composition to be one of the most important "brushstrokes of the picture". The same can be said about Suburban Deep , which is a pure deep house, as well as about another mutual work, which is closer to lounge music - Warming together with M_Spark. It is worth mentioning that the chill-step-track Fields of Love, recorded together with Garik Chayka has big variety of guitar tunes and riffs which enable the track to shine in bright colors. What unites all of them together? Probably, the point is in the typical sounding of Parallax Breakz, which can be traced in its every work. But that not the only point, because totally all the compositions of the album, despite their diversity, have more "grown-up" or more subtly. That fact at first glance can be explained by the impact of Dmitriy's jazz style. But maybe it's because of the philosophy which is supported by both of creators. Have you ever thought about the extent to which a word can describe your mood or your feelings? Initially words were replaced by images and symbols, they bear certain meaning, certain association. And nowadays symbols and signs have their meanings to help us orient ourselves in the modern world. "NowHere" - can be read as "Nowhere (i.e. No place)". But if written separately it means "Now, Here" i.e. "This time, This place" Being nowhere, being beyond the power of time, inside the current moment, at the same time one can live a full life.
